Pascal's fellow Game of Thrones alum Bella Ramsey plays Elle on the show, with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Ghost Rider, Gabriel Luna, portraying Tommy, Joel's younger brother and a soldier who remains hopeful for a better tomorrow. Pedro Pascal is starring in HBO's The Last of Us as Joel, a hardened survivor tasked with smuggling Elle, a 14-year old girl who is immune to the virus, across the post-apocalyptic United States. The property takes place in a post-apocalyptic future decades after a terrible virus ravages the world, turning the infected into aggressive, zombie-like monsters. HBO's Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin is writing and executive producing the network's The Last of Us show alongside Druckmann, with Season 1 consisting of ten episodes based on the first game's story. The Last of Us adapts the hit video game franchise developed by Naughty Dog and co-directed by Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann.
